Stanley Steamer Tales of a Novice Steam Car Owner and Other Antique Auto Adventures.
This website was created to provide information about my Stanley and Steam cars in general. Other websites which I have linked are certainly more developed and should be investigated by those interested. About 14,000 Stanley Steam Cars were built between 1898 and 1924 by the Stanley Motor Carriage Company of Newton, Massachusetts. Only about 600 Stanleys still exist world wide. I am the proud owner of one of these unique automobiles. It is a 1924 Stanley Steamer Model 750A Phaeton 5-passenger touring car with a California (fixed) top. Nineteen twenty four (1924) was the final year the Stanley Motor Carriage Company produced Stanleys. During that year ownership was transferred to the Steam Vehicle Corporation. In 1924 - 102 steam cars were manufactured. My car was production number 91. Literally one of the last Stanleys made. Links

Stanley Steamer Tales of a Novice Steam Car Owner and Other Antique Auto Adventures
by Dr.Thomas W.Dawson

Thomas W. Dawson has been an active antique automobile enthusiast since the age of 14. This book features some of the highlights of that hobby, with an emphasis on the most challenging of all the cars he has owned - the Stanley Steamer. Years were spent learning how to operate and maintain the unique workings of this steam car. During that process, many interesting experiences were encountered and recorded by the author. Steam car owners and enthusiasts will find detailed information they can draw on in repairing and maintaining their own vehicles.

Over 100 color photos of antique autos, auto tours, illustrations, vintage advertisements, and technical illustrations will delight the automobile history buff as well as the mechanically minded. This is the first printing of this 128 page book. It has a hard cover with an attractive jacket and is Signed by the Author if Requested. Stanley Steamer Tales would make a terrific addition to your library or a gift for the car enthusiast!
